- STEVE’S GRAVEL BIKE -

Steve initially came to me about building a road bike and as the popularity of swinging off the road and hitting the bridal ways built in popularity, the direction of the bike started leaning more towards a gravel bike.

The frame uses quite a few features Steve liked the idea of for a road bike, such as the integrated seat post to give the bike a modern feel. However, there are a few other things which give a nod to the past such as the Columbus XCr stainless steel chainstays, polished to a chrome like finish. This also has a nice mechanical benefit as well as looking lovely as it prevents paint chipping from chain slap on the rougher surfaces this bike is likely to face.

To add to the retro-modern feel, we used the limited edition Shimano GRX silver groupset, mechanical gears and a full set of Chris King components once again tick all the boxes for a built to last bike with great serviceability. The hubs area again handbuilt into my personal favourite rim for a gravel build, the Pacenti Forza W.

There is something I have a real soft spot for with this bike, I really like a single colour paint job with a contrasting set of anodised Chris King parts. A very classy build indeed!
